What is home health care?

Home health care is ordered by a physician to provide preventative and post-hospital care for patients who require a skilled medical need; namely nursing and physical or occupational therapy.

How do I order home health services?

Do individuals need to be hospitalized to qualify for home health services?

No.  Home Health care may be utilized as preventative medicine to enhance overall care.  Our goal is to reduce acute care hospitalization.

Do individuals need to be home bound?

Yes, if the individual is home bound by use of a wheelchair, walker or otherwise dependent upon another person, the individual qualifies for home health services.  An individual may be able to leave the home for physician appointments, church and the barber.

Does Medicare pay for home health services?

Yes, Medicare covers home health in its entirety.

Does private health insurance pay for home health services?

Yes, depending on the plan of coverage.
